Landscape Design Process:
We follow four basic rules at Bennett Garden & Gift Center when it comes to landscape design and installation. We start with a professional design, add quality installation, follow with proper maintenance, and expect great results. Whether installed by our staff or by you, let us create a landscape design package that reflects you interest, taste, and lifestyle. From perennials, shrubs and trees, to garden art, benches and arbors, we will help you create a landscape that is truly unique and personal.
We have a variety of options to choose from when deciding to work with a Landscape Designer at Bennett Garden & Gift Center. The first step is to determine if you plan to have Bennett’s install the plants for you, or if you plan on installing the plants yourself (the We Plan, You Plant Program).
Bennett Garden Center Installation
Our goal is to help you create a landscape that is truly unique by offering a wide assortment of the latest plant varieties and cultivars suited for sun or shade. Our designer will meet with you on site to discuss your needs, expectations, and budget. After your comprehensive plan is developed by the designer, it is reviewed at the Bennett’s landscape office. Our skilled landscape installation crew can then install your landscape project, according to plan, and under the supervision of the designer.
Installation services include:
- Bed preparation;
- Roto-tilling and adding soil amendments;
- Edging;
- Tree installation and small tree removal;
- Shrub installation and removal;
- Perennial bed installation or altering;
- Perimeter gardens around a patio, deck, lamp post, foundation of a house or building;
- Seeding or sod laying;
- Small retaining walls and walkways;
- Mulch and rock installation;
- Total landscape installation. If there is work that we don’t do (for example concrete, large tree removal) we will work with you to coordinate the additional contractor’s work with ours.
Deliveries
If you are doing the work yourself, we can deliver soil amendments, mulch, bulk gravel or river rock, trees and shrubs, fountains, statuary, boulders, etc. A delivery charge will be assessed based on your location. If you need the materials placed and/or set up in the yard additional charges will apply.
We Plan, You Plant Program
Choose from two do-it-yourself options that best suits your landscaping needs: on-site or in-store. One of them is right for you.
On-site:
Recommended for sectional landscaping for example, front of house, side of yard, etc.
Appointment is required. Initial fee of $50.00 for the home visit, which includes:
- Personal, one-on-one design consultation with our landscape designer, offering creative ideas and suggestions at your home;
- Measurements and photos of proposed area;
- On-site landscape design recommendations.
Our Landscape Designer will then design a detailed plan for you. Design fees begin at $75.00 and will vary based upon detail and size of plan. The design fee includes:
- Two in-store appointments with our landscape designer;
- A professional design with detailed plant list;
- Planting instructions, including maintenance and of proposed plants;
- A Bennett Garden Center savings coupon for purchase of plants listed on the plant list.
In-store:
Recommended for spot landscaping projects, for example front entrance, patio, focal point, etc.
Appointment is required. Initial 20 – 30 minute consultation at Bennett Garden Center is free and includes:

Personal, one-on-one consultation with a landscape designer;

An instruction packet with questionnaire that must be completed prior to meeting with the landscape designer.

Instructions on taking photos and measurements of your site.
Our Landscape Designer will then design a detailed plant for you. Design fees begin at $75.00 and will vary based on the detail and size of the plan. The design fee includes:
- A professional design with detailed plant list;
- Planting instructions, including maintenance and care of proposed plants;
- A Bennett Garden Center savings coupon for purchase of plants listed on the plant list.
Landscape Maintenance:
Bennett’s will do simple or complex yard clean up or landscape maintenance during the year. Maintenance services include:

Custom Potting Services :
Bring in your own container(s) or select one of ours and let the designers at Bennett Garden & Gift Center create a captivating combination for your home or business. Seasonal planting and rejuvenation of your containers is available for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. If your containers are too large or inconvenient to bring in, our designers will be happy to go to your home to design and plant your containers for you. Call for details.
